Satin sheets are a bedding luxury and everybody, especially every couple, should get a set for their bedroom. Whenever you get luxury sheets, you have to commit yourself to taking care of them. If you're going to spend the extra money to get some great sheets then make them last you years.
Here's how to best take care of satin sheets so you can make them last a really long time.
Silk Bedding Set
The first thing you need to make sure of... get a good set of sheets. Don't skimp a get a set that is under 0. That 0 level, from our testing, seems to be the line between good satin sheets that last a long time and satin sheets that fall apart. So make sure that you invest because you will get what you pay for.
Second, check the directions for washing. Sounds obvious and almost insulting, but when was the last time you actually checked the directions for washing? If you're like me, you probably assumed what they were. Don't make that mistake here.
Also if you get the good satin sheets, you might very well have to get them dry cleaned. If that's the case, then don't complain... just do it because the enjoyment that these sheets will bring to you is worth it.
The next step during care is to avoid damage from day to day. That just means be careful jumping around on them if you're wearing lots of buttons, zippers, or have other sharp edges on your cloths. Also rotate them every couple weeks on the mattress so the wear is even.
When you store them, take care of the sheets because they will wrinkle and you don't want to apply too much heat to do that. They can damage easily... the cheap sheets will fall apart almost immediately if you do that. Don't store them anywhere where sunlight can get to them because they will fade.
For whatever reason, don't freak out and be too careful with your satin sheets. This especially applies if you got a good set because they will last much longer. Remember above all to enjoy them. They feel great, the colors them come in is the best of any bedding, and they are a joy to sleep in. Get your satin sheets today and before long, you'll have many sets in different colors.
